"Here's something interesting. A stone 'cottage' like frontage - yet with nothing cottage about the amount of space and accommodation inside - a fairly large house in fact, for its price and the appeal for many will be in the upgrading that you'd want to carry out to re introduce and to add to the character....

Bigger than you think There's a particularly long 'L' shaped hall and landing to match which, as the front certainly doesn't, gives away how deep this much larger than expected house actually is. The entrance is to the side and off the first part of the hall are two entertaining rooms either side. The front room is a pretty room, with a bay window and marble fireplace with working open fire. Here there are stripped and varnished floor boards. In fact as you look around there is a certain character within the very 'period-ness' of this substantial house. Three rooms So we'll call the front room the lounge and the adjacent room, the rear living room for, around the corner of the hall, is a third entertaining room - the dining room, the latter two with two windows each. All three are really good and sensibly proportioned rooms - none particularly smaller than the other and with the dining room next to the kitchen. Possible options This is a nice square kitchen, a little tired and ready for an upgrade, but like the rest of the house, is all very useable and for that 'move-in-able'. Of course during some upgrading you may stop and consider what a combined kitchen and dining room would give - a huge amount of space and a not inconsiderable amount of envy. Why not find space for a downstairs loo at the same time perhaps? Then again it's more than adequate as is. Upstairs Up here and you'll find four bedrooms, three of which are double and more or less of similar sizes. However the main front bedroom replicates the front living room, both are lovely, big rooms. These two rooms also enjoy best of the morning sunshine. Get aways Of course some will appreciate the long landing and others may not. With growing children, or for working from home there feels an opportunity to segregate oneself, or others for all good reasons.... The bathroom has been refurbished, as you can see from the photos. There's a 'P' shaped bath with shower over, fresh and bright. Perhaps you consider en suite facilities a requirement in a house so big - well we refer you to the floor plan once more. Outdoors Outside and there's a path that leads front to back. You shouldn't expect much of a garden living here in the centre of Oxton, certainly at these type of prices. However here there is a sweet little garden. ..and it's certainly got more of a garden feel to it than not. Helped, we think, by the planted borders - including a few newly planted trees, the view over to Christ Church, the westerly sun set orientation and, of course the little lawn. Mind you, there's the earlier afternoon patio just off the kitchen too, so that also helps - yes here's a garden! Locator Good to redefine the merits of Oxton Village again. So few properties have come to the market after a number of fast sales last year. No 24 is 'tucked' at the top end of the road and so away from any noise form late nights at the Shrew' - then again if you're there...it's two minutes door to door. Oxton Village has a great village buzz - like any thriving village. Take a look at house and stroll up to take a peep at the village too.
