"What a charming house. What a really very warm, cosy, inviting home this is. A home that's enjoyed many improvements over recent years together with a style of decor that provokes a 'Homes & Gardens' period feel. Quite appealing. Welcome then to the Cath Kidston boutique...

Of a Period, both now & then.. For many if not all rooms are finished in a very pretty nostalgic floral design evocative of the said designer. Of course not everyone's cup of tea, although to us the combination of a late Victoria/ early Edwardian house and all the rooms, space and high ceilings that implies, this style introduced works magically. Little touches, subtle differences Several 'period' features have been retained or re-matched to keep the character of this home. Note the tiled threshold and the quarry tiled kitchen come breakfast room too. Etched glass work to the vestibule door is a nice traditional touch and of course the staircase is the original. A huge asset of course, is the downstairs loo. Pleasant reception rooms The front reception room has a splayed bay window and most of the windows throughout the house are fairly new pvc units. An open fireplace begs for the installation of a wood burning stove. Maybe that could be your first home purchase in readiness for next winter... The rear reception, the dining room, has an interesting or differently designed pair of windows that look out to the rear garden. (These two are single glazed). Meanwhile, take a step down from the hall and into the kitchen breakfast room which also has two windows and a glazed external door. There's good lighting around the cooking area too for later in the day. This is a room that faces east so there'll be plenty of morning sunshine brightening up what is a cosy family room. At First Floor Upstairs and there are four lovely bedrooms each with their own style and mood. All beautifully presented. Then there's the bathroom, a Victorian style if ever there was one. Again, each to their own taste, but this is both smart, fresh, crispy white and surely a pleasure. Outside Outdoors and to the rear of the house and the garden. It's practical, modest in size and as well presented as the house inside as well as offering a little bit for all the family. Wide borders to invest garden time, a barked safe play area for toddlers and a place to take morning coffee. To the front there's off road parking for one. What more required? Locator Of course the position of Cecil Road is as good as it gets. Close to and within easy walking of shops and Sainsbury's on Woodchurch Road, yet far away enough not to be disturbed by the traffic and usual High Street noise. For No 5 stands at the top end of Cecil Road. More than this, Cecil is a one way road and certainly not used, indeed can't be used as a cut through unlike others that stand off the main road.
