THE LOCATION Halton features many 17th and 18th century buildings. Deep in the village, in the churchyard of St Wilfrids, stands the Halton Cross, which is believed to have been carved by Norsemen over 1000 years ago. The Coins of Canute, which are now in the British museum, were discovered on Halton Moor in 1815. There are great local amenities including an array of shops, local primary school and even a doctors surgery which is a relatively modern edition to the village and of course as you would expect there is a popular public house which every village needs. Halton itself is part of the Lune Valley which offers fantastic walks along the banks of the River Lune into neighbouring Caton or into the city of Lancaster. The village offers different types of homes from small bungalows through to larger detached homes giving the village a good mix of people. PROPERTY OVERVIEW Situated down a private road, in an elevated position and surrounded by beautiful gardens and fields you will find Mayfield.
