History Standing proudly at the centre of this small North Downs village, Cream House traces its origins to 1883, when it was built as a general grocers to the village and continued to trade through two World Wars, right up to the Nineteen Eighties. With the neighbouring house attached at the ground floor level the main building was granted permission to convert to a house in 1984 and the current owners have subsequently spent the past five years meticulously renovating the building to what is now a beautifully shown and most handsome Victorian residence.

Inside In keeping with the symmetry of the front elevations, the rooms which are arranged over three floors are all correspondingly well proportioned and flooded with light from large sash windows. Polished floorboards are exposed to many of the rooms and eye-catching, cast iron fireplaces are found in both reception rooms and the Kitchen, together with two of the bedrooms. Folding doors connecting the Drawing Room and Dining Room can be open to provide and excellent open reception, while the Kitchen which is stylishly fitted with modern units and slate floors opens to a fine dining and seating area ideal for the modern family hub. There are six large bedrooms over the first and second floors with views from the front rooms over the village roof tops to the Medway valley beyond. The bedrooms are served on both floors by equally well sized and attractively fitted bathrooms, and below the house is a cellar with steps down from the Kitchen.

Outside Leading out from the rear lobby where there is a cloakroom and Utility room, the garden opens initially from a paved terrace, covered overhead by a mature grape vine. The garden is predominantly lawn with planted flower beds along its length and leading to a rear deck. At the back of the garden is a recently constructed double garage which is approached from a narrow street running to the side of the house and without through access for vehicles other than to this and the neighbouring property. The garage has an electrically operated door to the front and internal stairs to a useful loft room.

Burham The village of Burham is a somewhat undiscovered backwater between Rochester and Maidstone, on the slopes of the North Downs. There are a number of facilities in the village including a Primary School, Public Houses and a post office stores. The village is particularly accessible with the A229 joined in about 2 miles, linking with both the M2 and the M20 motorways. Maidstone in 6 miles has a wide selection of facilities including two grammar schools, and Rochester with its Cathedral and Historic buildings also has the well regarded Kings Independent School in about 5 miles. Rail Services are best joined at Strood which is reached in 6 miles and has regular High Speed services to London St Pancras with journey times from 34 minutes.
