Details Info
With all the trademarks of an elegant Georgian property and a large helping of loving restoration, this Grade II Listed house is not only a wonderful family home, but one with character, warmth and a great deal of individuality.

Pertaining to date from 1741 and situated in the village high street, Grove House is one of just a few of the original buildings that survive. Once an important Roman occupation alongside the River Stour, Sturry Village was badly bombed during the Second World War, destroying many properties. Despite its size however, the village still retains a range of amenities, including a convenience store, a dentist, a doctors and nearby schools.

Homely, yet with a touch of Georgian decadence; the sculpted interior is a testament to the love that has been doted upon Grove House. Every little detail accounted for, this is a property that should offer a new owner no unwanted surprises.

Substantial enough for a family whilst manageable for a much smaller household, the accommodation is laid out over three floors in addition to a cellar.

There are two principle reception rooms that are currently used as a living room and a family room, but one could serve equally well as a separate dining room. A large kitchen/diner opens out into the garden at the rear of the property, whilst the bathroom also lies on the ground floor.

The master bedroom and a guest room occupy the first floor, both of which are large double rooms. Two further adjoining rooms reside on the top floor, which children are bound to love, or could be a perfect workspace or studio.

A cellar spans the full width of the property and is divided into two rooms, offering excellent storage or space for a workshop.

Tucked behind the property is a pretty patio and long, walled garden that has recently been re-turfed and planted. It has a southerly aspect, is not overlooked, creating a private sun-trap and space in which to relax or entertain.

Hard standing at the end of the garden provides off-street parking for two vehicles.

Sturry is just a short drive from Canterbury and the A299 Thanet Way. There is also a mainline station with HS1 high speed services to London via Canterbury and Ashford.
