Details Info
The archetypal farmhouse; such an evocative style, with thoughts of cosy fires and comfort food, immediately making one feel at home.

Detached and set back behind a gated driveway, Great Bossingham Farmhouse is an extremely attractive 18th century home that has few, if any, appreciable compromises.

The farm may be gone, and the village has grown in place, but the farmhouse remains well spaced from neighbouring properties with a good screen of natural foliage.

Internally, the layout is simple, spacious and quite open plan. The hub of this home is undoubtedly the farmhouse-style kitchen/breakfast room. Taking centre-stage in this room is a sturdy table seating six, which far from overtaking the kitchen, still leaves space for a comfy seating area as well as an impressive range of work surfaces and cupboards. French doors open out to the garden and there is also a pantry, utility room and cloakroom.

A large living room opens into a cosy 'snug' with fireplace, beyond which lies a separate dining room with an adjoining study. Indeed, there's a room for every occasion and enough to fulfil most buyers' wish lists.

There are four bedrooms on the first floor, three of which are large doubles, the fourth being a very reasonable single. There is a family bathroom and an en-suite shower room to the master bedroom.

Unusually for a property of this period, there is very reasonable headroom throughout, little ducking required, plenty of natural light and no oppressively dark-stained timbers.

Pretty gardens wrap around the property to the side and rear, providing an ample, yet perfectly manageable outside space which is privately screened and beautifully planted.

Bossingham has proved to be a very sought-after village in which to live, owing not least to the popularity of the Hop Pocket and village primary school.

There are plenty of nearby walks and footpaths in abundance, including open access to the Minnis, making this an ideal home for those that enjoy the great outdoors. Bossingham has a very active, if not compulsory, social scene. Kids will love the 'scout hut' for regular Scout and Guide group meets, and the village hall is the venue for an annual panto, village parties and evening exercise sessions.

There's a handy, local shop in the nearby village of Stelling Minnis as well as a farm shop in Lower Hardres and a regular bus service to and from Canterbury, including a school bus in the morning and afternoon.
