These wonderful detached period houses may have caught your eye when passing. This one bedroom pad takes almost the entire hall floor of one such house. Two main rooms will grab and hold your interest: the bedroom and reception - they are positively vast. A square functional kitchen and long and high bathroom complete the property - all have 3.3 metre high ceilings. Period features are in abundance here - we're in love with the jaw droppingly ornate cornicing, sash windows and the herringbone flooring in the reception.

Open to a shared hall where your own front door is found on the right. A nice layout awaits. Find your huge double bedroom to your right with bay window facing front (sashes, of course). Adjacent is the bathroom with white three piece suite and window to the side. The main room awaits - size untouched since it was built - a huge reception room with another bay to garden views. A stunning fireplace with floral tiling and stripped wooden mantel will grab your gaze. Just off the reception, find a smart kitchen with wall and base units aplenty and more garden views through a double glazed window. The garden is accessed at the side of the property; it’s mature and well-tended with shrubs and trees disguising the surprisingly central location.

Commuting? Sydenham station is a ten minute walk and is now on the East London line extension (woo hoo!). This hugely increases your connectivity to the tube network - you can be on the Jubilee Line in around 15 minutes. Walk a little further to Sydenham Hill or Penge West stations for more options (you can be at Victoria from Sydenham Hill in under 15 minutes). Saturday? Pop out to Crystal Palace or Dulwich Village perhaps for a meal or bevvie. Sunday? Nip down Westwood Hill to the new Blue Mountain Cafe on Kirkdale for a chilled coffee or breakfast. Your nearest and dearest park is Crystal Palace Park (just a 4-5 minute walk) and concerts and fireworks are always popular. If you're grocery shopping, try Sainsbury's stores at Crystal Palace or Bell Green in Sydenham.
