To the southeast a couple of miles lies the Cotswold Escarpment of Haresfield Beacon and Frocester Hill the views over the Severn valley are truly breath taking from here.

Castle House is to be found in the hamlet of Millend, along a small no through road, which turns into a bridle path connecting with the hamlet of Cress Green. The house known locally as the white house on the hill was once the local pub, built sometime in the 17th century and de-licensed around the 1920s quite a history is attached to the place to which the present owner has put together a book detailing the history of the house and the old mill at the end of the lane. The original parchment deeds to the house have been kept and framed for future owners and make interesting reading, that's if you can understand old English writing.
A total of 8 houses make up Millend set in open views of the surrounding countryside.

So what's good about Millend Eastington. Local junior school quarter mile away one of the top rated in the country, a beautiful 14/16 century Church next to the school and the Stroud Water canal which is being put back into use and will be joining the Severn to the Thames once again. The river Frome that use to power Millend Mill runs along the bottom of the garden don't worry the house is 20 feet above the level of the water.

Junction 13 M5 Stroud Water is but a mile way allowing you to be in Bristol in twenty five minutes and Cheltenham in about the same time.

Now for the best bit Beer lovers will love the Old Badger pub in the village and it's less than 10 mins walk from the house, being a free house they have lots of great real ales and food all served up in a friendly environment.

For the walkers among you there are lots of lovely walks along country lanes and open fields right on the door step and not forgetting the Cotswold Way about 5 miles away.

Stonehouse 3 miles away has every thing you need, mainline railway station gets you to London in 2 hours, two Doctors surgeries many shops including a very good Coop supermarket and a good ironmongers the old fashion type, there is also an excellent Comprehensive school.

A couple of miles further on lies the Cotswold market town of Stroud almost a step back in time if nothing else you must visit the weekly farmers market.

Back on the door step the village has an excellent butchers with it's own slaughter house, a mini Coop store and Post office. Two hair dressers, a car repair and Mot garage they can fix anything. On the edge of the village is the Owin Harris Memorial Ground and Community Centre brand new and built by the village for the village so if you're the sporting type this is for you.
