"Swallows Barn is an intriguing single storey detached village residence of timber frame construction with weatherboarded elevations under a tiled roof, originally built in 2002 and substantially extended in 2009. The property is situated within the heart of Arkesden village, set back from the road and stands in its own grounds with parking. The formal front door entrance leads through to reception hallway which links through to the inner hall. There is a utility room with ceramic tiled floor and a stable door to the outside. The sitting room is a particular feature of the property with glazed doors leading to the garden and terrace, attractive brick fireplace with wood burner and oak style flooring. The well appointed kitchen/dining room again has glazed doors leading to the garden terrace, a ceramic tiled floor compliments the extensive range of base and wall cabinets with work surfaces, electric hob with extractor hood over, fitted fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The master bedroom offers an en suite shower room; there are two further good sized bedrooms; one with built-in wardrobes and vanity unit and a family bathroom.
Outside, the property is approached over a private driveway with full rights-of-way leading to its own driveway and 5-bar gate entrance with parking for 1-2 vehicles. The gardens are principally laid to lawn with post-and-rail fencing, pathways and rear terracing. Outbuildings include two timber framed sheds and a wood store/bike shed.Directions

From Saffron Walden take the B1052 to Audley End Station and continue on the B1039. Continue along this road for approximately 1km and at the first junction bear left - signposted to Arkesden.
