Full description:
Oakfield Lodge is a detached home with a certain style and character, believed to date from the 1970s occupying a tucked away position just off this popular lane. The property is set back from the road, accessed from its own private driveway and is well placed within a convenient distance of this medieval market town's main High Street and wide range of local amenities. As you enter the house, a large open hallway provides a lovely reception area which could serve a variety of purposes. Stairs rise to the first floor and a cloakroom is set to one side. The principal reception room features an exposed brick chimneybreast incorporating an open fireplace, attractive wooden floor and views out to the rear with glazed doors leading out to a paved garden terrace. The kitchen has an Aga and tiled floor and opens out to an adjoining breakfast room with semi vaulted ceiling creating a pleasant family area. The room is well lit by natural light with a large window to the front and two Velux windows overhead. Upstairs, a central landing leads to the 3 well proportioned bedrooms and family bathroom. The rear bedrooms have delightful countryside views.
Outside, as previously mentioned the property is approached via a driveway from Watling Lane leading to the front of the house with a parking area and garage. The rear garden (approx. 37ft wide x 17ft deep) is predominantly hard landscaped featuring a raised paved terrace with pergola over and a variety of plants and shrubs adding some softer touches..

From Saffron Walden take the B184 Thaxted Road passing through Howlett End, continuing straight ahead until reaching Thaxted. As you enter Thaxted (Newbiggen Street) continue towards the Parish Church and just before the road bends sharp left, take the right hand turn into Watling Lane. Proceed along the lane until reaching Oakfield Lodge on your left hand side."
