A 2 bedroom period town cottage in no-through road within the immediate town centre with on-street parking and a small, pretty outside space

SITUATION: The property is quietly located in a no-through side street on the east side of Bridport town centre called Barrack Street, just where it extends into St Andrews Road. There is, therefore, direct access into the shopping area via the pedestianised walk into East Street and also via the Millenium garden, a venue for concerts and plays or just enjoying sitting in idyllic surroundings.

The town offers a vibrant community with mainly independent shops together with a twice-weekly street market and monthly farmers‘ market and caters for a wide range of leisure pursuits and interests including vintage and artists‘ studios and well supported U3A groups. The town also hosts many events and festivities throughout the year.

The coast at West Bay can be accessed also by footpaths and cycle routes some 2 miles to the south with its ancient fishing harbour, beaches and access to the Jurassic Coastline and South West Coastal Path.

THE PROPERTY comprises a period character cottage, the first one of the terrace, featuring stone elevations under a slate roof and is slightly elevated up from the pavement enjoying easterly views to the distant Bothen Hill.

This is a particularly quirky triangular-shaped property which abuts the old Port Bredy Barracks stone wall. The property has been well maintained and updated over recent years and has had the benefit of new double-glazing, a superb new fitted kitchen, new lighting and flooring and also doors. Further improvements have included smoke alarms and increased insulation to the roof space and the property has gas central heating.

There has been every attention to detail whilst retaining and presenting character features and the property should appeal to a wide variety of buyers either for permanent living or as a holiday retreat/let which it was in the past.

There is a delightful, well designed and stocked small enclosed front garden and a triangular colourful raised bed to the rear viewed from the kitchen window.

A small flight of steps leads up to the smart replacement front door which opens to the:
LOUNGE/DINING AREA which is a double-fronted room with easterly windows to views of the distant hills. Window seat/shelf features and a central natural stone fireplace with wooden mantel.
