You really wouldn't know you were living in a bustling seaside town, said Christopher. But there are some fantastic restaurants nearby and all within easy walking distance. With ambitions to sail the seas both at home and abroad, however, he now feels it is time to move on. He explained: I want to explore more of the south west coast and eventually the Mediterranean and the Caribbean with my boat so I am seeking out fresh waters for sailing and as a consequence a new base. Setting the Scene Sovereign House overlooks Torquay's harbour and marina, where the owner has moored his own boat. It really is a top quality marina and with its close proximity to my home I can be out sailing in no time at all, he said. Likewise, stunning beaches are within easy reach at Babbacombe and for some bracing sea-air walking, the coastal path is easily accessible too. As a tourist destination, the town has a wealth of amenities and facilities. We are spoilt for choice for good restaurants, he said. Torquay's Living Coast with its penguin enclosures is always popular with the grandchildren, while the shopping centre is only a few minutes walk away too.
