SITUATION The Halfways is situated in a semi-rural spot midway between the villages of Dunsford and Bridford, on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Dunsford has a good range of amenities with village store, post office, pub, village hall and junior school. The thriving villages of Bridford and Christow are close by and enjoy similar amenities. The university and cathedral city of Exeter lies about seven miles distant and has a comprehensive range of facilities and amenities befitting a centre of its importance including excellent shopping, dining, theatre and recreational pursuits as well as schooling. It has two mainline railway stations to London Waterloo and Paddington and Exeter International Airport lies four miles to the east of the city. Due to its position on the edge of Dartmoor, there are many thousands of beautiful unspoilt moorland acres in which to enjoy a number of outdoor pursuits including walking, riding, cycling and fishing. DESCRIPTION The Halfways is a detached bungalow of rendered block walls beneath a tiled roof. Built for the current owners in 1961, it offers accommodation of .......sq ft that would benefit from a degree of refreshment and improvement. There is scope to extend and enlarge the property, subject to obtaining the necessary consents. ACCOMMODATION Wooden front door leads to the reception hallway with light oak wooden flooring, off which are the principal living rooms. The sitting room has light oak parquet flooring as well as open fire. There is a small dining room/snug, again with open fire. The kitchen has an oil-fired Aga together with space for a small table and chairs. There are three double bedrooms, two of which have in-built cupboards as well as family bathroom comprising coloured suite with panelled bath with shower rover, pedestal wash basin and wc. Of further note is a conservatory to the rear. THE GROUNDS The property is approached from the lane via a five-bar wooden gate attached to a granite post. This leads to the attached garage, with up-and-over door and power and light supply. To the rear is two separate store rooms. There is a path leading right around the property and the majority of the gardens are laid to level lawn, interspersed with a good number of well-established and mature shrubs and trees. There is a large vegetable plot and the private gardens are surrounded by mature hedgerows. There is a greenhouse and wooden shed. Due to its position, the house and grounds enjoy a good degree of privacy and seclusion. Overall the property amounts to just over half an acre. SERVICES Mains water and mains electricity. Private drainage. Electric storage heating. DIRECTIONS From Exeter proceed on the B3212 signposted Moretonhampstead. Proceed through the village of Longdown and at Farrants cross turn left signposted Chudleigh, Bridford and Christow. Continue along the road for approximately 1.5 miles and at Leigh cross, turn left, just by the white cottage. Proceed under the old railway bridge and immediately after that turn right down a track and The Halfways can be found on the right hand side after approximately 150 yards.
