Winton Wharf is named after Brigadier Winton who founded Winton Hayes Limited in 1933, which became a prominent construction company with its roots planted firmly in Biggleswade. The site is situated on a former Wharf which at one time in the 1930-s was owned by William Jordan and Son of Jordan-s Cereals fame.
