" Formerly part of the Compton Estate, this most stunning period cottage occupies an ideal elevated position enjoying far reaching spectacular views from every aspect across the beautiful surrounding countryside of the highly sought after Test Valley village of King’s Somborne.

Owners Comments
“More than anything Furzedown has been a great place for the children to grow up. They’ve had an almost Enid Blyton-like childhood with adventures and den building in the woods. They’ve enjoyed real independence, I’ve known that they’re safe, a stone’s throw from home. I’ve no doubt that one of the things that I will miss most are the views, opening the curtains to see the sun rising over the hills on the far side of the valley – what an uplifting start to the day!”

“What first attracted me to Furzedown Cottages was the feeling of space, away from the hustle and bustle of town. It’s provided an ideal compromise: peace and quiet but far from remote. There’s a real feeling of living in the heart of the countryside but with easy access to Romsey, Stockbridge and Winchester. Even Southampton for me was an easy, pleasant commute. I’ve really loved the easy access to some great footpaths and cycle routes, it’s been like having Parnholt Woods and Farley Mount as an enormous extension to our own garden.”
