Location Torrisholme Road is a popular residential road which links the North part of Lancaster up with the village of Torrisholme in Morecambe. The road itself mainly consists of semi detached homes although there are a few bungalows and detached properties along the way. The area of Skerton dates back to Norman times and was once classed as a village before being linked up with Lancaster itself back in the late 1800's. Close by there are a wide variety of local amenities, businesses and schools with Skerton Community High School being the fourth oldest school building in Lancaster dating back to 1932. Opposite this part of the road you will find Ryelands Park which is a public park and was given to the residents of Lancaster by Lord Ashton, a local industrialist, whose family home was Ryelands House.
