Caernarfon is a busy market town, a major tourist centre and the administrative centre for the county of Gwynedd. Porthmadog is a colourful town and home to the Welsh Highland Railway which now stretches all the way to Caernarfon. The area is renowned its superb coastline and the world renowned Snowdonia National Park.
