The Area

Bowes is an historic and traditional Teesdale village supporting a nursery and primary school, church and public house. A wider range of shopping, educational and recreational facilities can be found within the nearby market town of Barnard Castle. For the commuter the A66 and A1(M) provide links with the major commercial centres of the north east. Darlington Main Line Railway Station and Durham Tees Valley International Airport offer further communications with the rest of the country.

Bowes is ideally placed to access the many attractions which can be found in Teesdale, North Yorkshire as well as the Lake District.


The Property

The cottage is entered through a panelled door which leads into the living room. There are stairs rising to the first floor and a window with an outlook on to the seating area in the front garden. The living room has an exposed stone wall with a multi-fuel stove that sits on a stone hearth and heats the radiators and water for the property.

From the living room a door leads through to a good size breakfasting kitchen which has space for a fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and has a freestanding oven with extractor fan over. There is a useful storage space beneath the stairs between the kitchen and living room.

On the first floor the main bedroom lies to the left side of the property. The room is a spacious double bedroom and has a period feature fireplace and exposed stone chimney breast. The room also has exposed beams and stripped floorboards. There is a fitted storage cupboard which sits above the stairs.

The second bedroom is a smaller double, with a window to the front of the property and exposed wooden beams running across the room. There is another period fireplace providing a feature in this bedroom.

The bathroom has a white suite comprising of a bath with shower over, WC and a wash hand basin. The area around the bath and wash hand basin is tiled with white high gloss brick bond tiling and the room has a heated towel rail.

Continue until passing under the A66 turning immediately left to Bowes and at the subsequent mini round about turn to the right. You will see Bowes Club on your left and to the left of this is a pedestrian passage where the property is found on the right hand side after the opening.
