"Handsome Grade II listed period house situated in the heart of desirable Westerham, overlooking the green. A rare opportunity to purchase an historic yet modern home which has been in the same family since 1902. The stone property dates from the 18th century, possibly earlier, and once served as the local jail. Character features have been retained including a stone archway, exposed beam and stonework, sash windows, period doors and fireplaces. The house has been partly modernised internally and is presented in a bright and neutral style which complements the wealth of character features. There remains scope for further modernisation and reconfiguration (subject to the necessary consents). A highlight of the home is the availability of wonderful views, both across the village green and beyond and to the rear over the rolling Kent countryside.

With light and spacious accommodation arranged over three floors, the house extends to approximately 1364 square feet and is accessed via an entrance hall leading to the two adjoining reception rooms which could be opened into one, a kitchen to the rear with French windows opening to the garden and under floor electric heating, a rear lobby with a glass roof and a door to a cloakroomWC. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor, with a third larger bedroom on the second floor. The two front bedrooms overlook the green.

Situation
Located in the centre of the highly desirable and historic market town of Westerham with its thriving shops, cafes and boutique, the property overlooks the green and sits in an enviable position away from passing traffic. Westerham, famous for its connection to Winston Churchill and General James Wolfe, has a church, library and primary school and is surrounded by extensive, greenbelt countryside. There are many nearby attractions including historic houses to visit such as Churchill-s home Chartwell, Hever Castle, and Squerryes Court. The nearby towns of Oxted (4 miles) and Sevenoaks (7 miles) are popular due to the fast train services to London Victoria (31 minutes) and London Bridge (from 28 minutes). The motorway network and Gatwick Airport are easily accessed via the M25 at Godstone (Junction 6) or Sevenoaks (Junction 5).

Outside
The house has wonderful views over the green and the historic streets. On-street parking is available locally with residents- permits. To the rear there is a lovely part walled garden featuring a decked terrace, lawn with herbaceous borders and hedging, and a secluded area at the rear with a summerhouse and garden store. There is a lovely view across to St. Mary-s Church from the rear of the garden and you see the similarities in the stonework.
