"Highfield Road is a large Victorian semi detached, offering a substantial family home within the Town. The accommodation is set over four floors including the basement area. With generous room sizes, period features and both a front and rear garden this is a truly desirable residence. Internally there is a large kitchen diner to the rear of the house. The kitchen is fitted with an Aga, stainless steel sink and half with drainer, plumbing and recess for a dish washer and ample space for free standing furniture. The original doors, wooden units and varnished wooden flooring all add to the farmhouse kitchen feel. There is a utility room and W.C off the kitchen, also providing access to the rear garden. The reception room is a large bright room with big windows affording lovely views of the fells beyond. There is an open fire with an attractive surround and wooden pine mantle. A pitch pine staircase leads to the first floor, on this level are two bedrooms and one of the bathrooms. The front bedroom benefits from two fitted wardrobes and original sash windows. The second bedroom on this floor benefits from an ensuite shower room and the family bathroom comprises a bath, W.C, wash hand basin and large airing cupboard. To the second floor are a further two double bedrooms and another bathroom. The large landing also provides an ideal study area. The bathroom comprises a roll top bath, W.C and wash hand basin. The rear bedroom is currently used as a home office and has a working open fire. All rooms in this house, both front and rear benefit from fell views. The basement is accessed from the entrance hall, with steps down to the coal store with external shoot. The basement has attractive flag flooring and houses the boiler. The basement could be treated as an additional room within the property as it has natural light and heating. There is a rear garden with lawn area and lovely views up towards the Howgill Fells. The detached garage is to the rear with light and power and space for 1 car inside and 1 car adjacent to it. There is also roadside parking to the front of the house. The front garden is detached from the property but its a good sized enclosed plot and would make an ideal allotment area or large South facing garden. A centrally located period property offering adaptable, well proportioned accommodation.
