a quiet area of East Grinstead. Due to the split level nature of

various storage areas. The rooms to the rear overlook the rear
garden which backs on to woodland. Garage en bloc. An ideal
location for East Grinstead High Street with its eclectic
collection of coffee shops, bars and shops as well as the two
supermarkets, cinema, theatre, museum and railway station in the
town. Solar panels. NO ONWARD CHAIN
Vendors Comments
We bought Fairfield Road 17 years ago because of its size (some
people have called it a tardis!), adaptability and location.
Compared to other houses in the same price bracket it was
significantly larger with lots of storage space. The three bedrooms
are all big enough for two double beds and have been used as
lounges and dining rooms. As our three children grew up and needed
more space we were able to keep changing things around to fit our
needs. Perhaps most importantly was the location: the children
could walk to the primary and secondary schools in five minutes
without crossing the road; local pubs and restaurants are within
five minutes as well; when I commuted it took 12 minutes to walk to
the train station, and; the Forest Way park/track is also within
five minutes. Out of the back gate is the Herontye Ponds area of
woodland which is also good for walking the dog. Although so close
to town because the road is set back there is next to no traffic
and it is surprisingly quiet. Three years ago we had solar panels
fitted. Dependant upon when the sun shines and what electricity we
can use in the daytime, this means that our bills are considerably
cheaper.

East Grinstead
The popular market town of East Grinstead is located approximately
half way between London and the south coast. The town boasts a
wealth of architectural heritage and the High Street retains period
buildings with old world charm. It is believed that East Grinstead
has the longest row of Tudor and Medieval timber framed, open hall
houses which have been in continuous use. The Meridian Line runs
through the town and its path is marked by terracotta markers.
There are a number of coffee shops, restaurants, a museum, a
leisure centre and Chequer Mead theatre within the town. Surrounded
by some of the finest countryside in the south east, East Grinstead
is in close proximity to Ashdown Forest which is designated as an
area of outstanding natural beauty. The recently reopened Bluebell
Steam Railway links the town to Sheffield Park with regular
excursions throughout the year. The mainline railway station offers
frequent services to London Victoria or London Bridge in just under
the hour. The town is ideally situated for access to the M23 and
M25 motorways with Gatwick being the closest airport.
