" Set in an enviable location with a commanding position providing sea views that alter their mood and demeanour from day to day - Greycourt is a period home with true grace and elegance."We had known Greycourt for some time" says Moira "and when the owner announced that it was to go on the market - we didn't hesitate! The house is such a grand lady, with many of her original features to enjoy and admire, we all instinctively knew that this was home and that we would be so very happy here". On entering the house one is greeted by a sizeable entrance hall that is a reception room in it's own right. A bohemian crystal chandelier adds to the overall effect which is completed by the stunning dog-leg staircase, window lights of original stained glass panels and a truly magnificent fireplace with it's wood surround and large overmantle "When the sun shines through the stained glass it settles on the crystal chandelier and dances around the room" continues Moira. It's Edwardian proportions and original features add so much to the elegant ambiance of this fine home - but move towards the kitchen and we discover a truly exciting space which is definitely 21st Century. "We extended out to the rear of the house and built a wonderful kitchen, dining and family area" adds Paul "in many ways it is the absolute heart and hub of the entrire household, especially during summer days and balmy evenings. It is perfect for informal parties and kitchen suppers - and with the bi-folding doors fully opened, children and guests just drift seamlessly between this fabulous room and the gardens. It opens up the house to the outdoor space and it is the room where everyone seems to naturally migrate". Surrounded by hedges and large mature trees, the gardens are wonderfully private and not overlooked - and adds a special dimension to life within the house, especially so, when one considers the convenience of the location! "We shall miss being able to walk everywhere" says Moira "everything we need, shops, schools, banks, post office - everything is within walking distance. Even the beach and the shore are a few steps away and many is the time when the day has been long and hot - we take a picnic and a bottle of wine across to the beach and just let the remains of the day melt away, along with any cares or worries. Greycourt is indeed a grand old lady and it has been a true privilege to live in such a wonderful house, our whole family have been so incredibly happy here. I know that the new owners will be every bit as happy and contented, as we have been. Living here has been absolutely everything we ever hoped it would be - and then so very much more!".
