" Turning into the driveway for the first time, gives you that special feeling of coming home. There is a feeling of tradition that exudes from the property, sparked by its size and the large bay windows. It conjures images of big rooms and family gatherings, with open fires. A true family home; the big question of course is, does it live up to expectations? The answer is a resounding yes. Located on Seabrook Road, this is a beautiful example of a four bedroom Victorian home, which has retained many original features, including open fireplaces, original doors and cornice. There is a cosy sitting room with an open fireplace, a formal dining room, which has access to the garden, and a large family kitchen, which has a homely feel with its exposed brick chimney breast. Now for the master bedroom; you can imagine on a cosy winter’s evening going to bed and watching TV, whilst the logs crackle on the open fire. Bedroom 2 is a joy, with stunning sea views across to France and Dungeness. Bedroom 3 also shares these sea views.The beautifully maintained gardens are approximately 160ft in length. The current owners have said that they are going to miss having barbeques here, with the distant sound of breaking waves.

Whilst searching for a new home, the most important thing for me was location and character, and this house definitely has both of those. The added bonus for us was the direct access to the canal path, as my wife is a keen runner.We also have two dogs and have enjoyed many walks along the canal and the seafront, which is only a ten minute walk away. We will miss being able to hop in the car and be in Hythe’s town centre in about five minutes, which has an excellent selection of restaurants, coffee shops and even a Waitrose.
