SITUATION The property is situated in south Somerset at Redlynch in a lovely rural location within easy driving distance of the surrounding towns. Good everyday facilities can be found at nearby Bruton as well as schools including Bruton School for Girls, King's School, Sexey's School and Sunny Hill Prep. Wincanton has a good range of supermarkets and shops. Castle Cary station has a main line to London (Paddington 1hr 38 min) and Gillingham to London (Waterloo). The A303 trunk road can be joined at Wincanton, about 4 miles distant. The famous Alfred's Tower is found a few miles east of Redlynch, which was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1946, along with the wonderful landscape gardens at Stourhead created by Henry Hoare II in the 1740's.
