Agent’s wording:Marden is a remarkable little village and the positioning of this charming Victorian cottage allows you to take full advantage of all that it has to offer. Not many villages of this size can boast of a station to London. Nor are there many houses closer to the well served High Street.

Entering the cottage you are greeted by a comfortable modern space. The lounge and kitchen areas have been opened up to create one big room with light drawn in from the front and rear windows. Whilst your friends are relaxing in sofas in front of the fire in winter or out in the garden in summer you can prepare their dinner in the stylish modern kitchen area.

A lobby off the kitchen area is a convenient space for your washing machine, and more storage.

After dining you might like to take a short stroll up to the nearby "olde worlde" pub. Guests can stay overnight in the second bedroom while you get the main bedroom. If you need more space, there is a handy loft area on the second floor which could make a great office or games room, or just a useful storage space

The garden is surprisingly long for such a central location. There is plenty of space to create ‘rooms’ for sitting and relaxing, gardening, playing, and even keeping chickens - welcome to the good life.

What the Owner says:

The thing I love about living where we do in Marden is that it gives you the best of both worlds. We are really well connected to work, friends and family with a station to London that we can walk to in under five minutes.

A walk to the end of the road gives me the choice of popping into the pub, or over to the farm shop depending on whether I am feeling good or not! There are lovely walks on my doorstep, or I can just sit at home relaxing in the garden.

The house gives you the best of two worlds too. You get Victorian charm and a feeling of rural retreat, yet we have also created a space full of modern comforts.
