Amersham is a fanstastic area. The mix of housing makes it a wonderful place, the schools are extraordinary, the facilities second to none. Access to Old Amersham means you have a beautiful 16th century makret town on your doorstep. Open fields allow for a sense of freedom from 'commuter-ville'. Particular property hotspots include Scholars Way which is home to some beautiful detached homes, in easy walking distance (15 mins) to the station. Be prepared to wait for them to come on the market there - people here rarely move from the 4 bed detached as it's about the most desirable address in the area for these sort of family homes.
