Prior to Milton Keynes, Walton was a small historic hamlet which was recorded in the Domesday book as Waleton. It is now a residential area with some light industry. The parish also includes Caldecotte and Bow Brickhill. This area also has the lowest price earnings in the South East area. The proximity to major employers and the M1 help make the Milton Keynes area one of the best places for first-time buyers in the Home Counties. Milton Keynes also benefits from one of the lowest levels of unemployment and highest levels of educational attainment in the country. The median age of the population in Milton Keynes is below the national average. The new MKDons stadium in Denbigh North will be the biggest development in the history of MK outside of the city centre.
