DE13 is located in the heart of England, in the midlands. A large portion of the land here is used for farming. Drive around on the rural roads and you will pass through the countryside where you can feel relaxed, away from busy city life.

Stretton is a village in Staffordshire. The name Stretton literally means ‘Street Town’ due to it being on the Roman road of Rykilnd Street. A railway station once served Stretton. It was created by the North Staffordshire Railway on January 1, 1901. The station was built from timber. Later, the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) rebuilt the station in concrete. This station was in use for roughly 50 years, before it was closed in 1949. 15 years later it was demolished.

All Saints Church in Alrewas dates back to the 12th century. The original building was made of wood, but the Normans replaced the wood with stone to make it a gothic style church. The church still has Sunday services today.
DE13 contains about 40,000 residents, while the DE postcode area contains about 680,000 people. The area is fairly popular with retirees. The average house price in DE13 is significantly below the national average. The housing stock in DE13 is mostly made up of detached and terraced homes, which make up 41 per cent and 37 per cent respectively.

One of the most expensive places to live in DE13 is Kings Walk, where the average cost of a house is £600,000. The large detached houses on this street are ideal for young, families as the Richard Crosse CofE (A) Primary School, located on Litchfield Road, is very close by.

Harper Avenue is a good place to start your search if you are looking for some of the least expensive places to buy property in DE13. The average property price in this road is £80,000. Most of the homes here are semi-detached with three bedrooms. The street is convenient for families, as Eton Park Junior School is located very nearby on Masefield Crescent.

A highly residential street, Calais Road is ideal for older people. Most of the properties here are flats or terraces with an average price of £100,000. This street has a number of convenient amenities, such as a petrol station and Burton Hospital, which is located around the corner on Belvedere Road.
A must see in this area is The National Memorial Arboretum. It is located off of Croxall Road in Alrewas, Staffordshire. Built in 1997, it serves as a tribute to those who have served, or continue to serve the nation in many different ways. Not only does it focus on the military, it also devotes areas to the police, fire and rescue and ambulance services. The arboretum covers 150 acres of trees and memorials.

DE13 is also home to the Burton Albion Football Club, or “The Brewers.” They play games at Pirelli Stadium in Burton-on-Trent.

If you fancy a round of golf, The Craythorne is a golf course just north of Stretton with 18 holes which are open to the public. It also has a driving range, putting green, pro-shop, pub and restaurant.

On a nice day, the whole family can enjoy hours of fun at a local corn maze. The National Forest Maize Maze is farmed by the Robinson family and covers around 500 acres. The farm creates different themes each year, meaning there is always a new challenge.
